Crack filling is the placement of materials into non-working or low movement cracks to reduce the infiltration of water and other materials into the cracks. When done properly, crack filling can extend the life of your pavement. By sealing cracks in your pavement you prevent water from entering, sand and rocks from making their way to the surface, minimize crack growth, and help stop new cracks from forming. Treating the problem areas while they are small is the key to proper crack filling. Crack filling pays for itself by delaying expensive asphalt resurfacing.
By sealing asphalt cracks promptly you can extend the life of your asphalt pavement, in many situations with proper maintenance you can double the expected life. From driveways to shopping malls, tennis courts to running tracks, Al’s Asphalt Paving Company uses the highest grade materials available. We have sealer mixed for different pavement requirements. Our skilled professional crews use only the finest state of the art repair equipment and materials to help insure our customers total satisfaction.
Crack Routing or Sawcutting
When routing or sawing is incorporated, the necessary cracks need to be cleaned and dried prior to application of the crack filler or sealant. When pavement is cracked extensively, routing or sawing of cracks may not be appropriate. Crack cutting allows for more filler to be used and provides better control of the crack channel shape.
